According to the Iran visa policy to enter Iran, citizens of different countries need to follow different procedures. Some can easily travel to Iran VISA FREE and stay for as long as 90 days while some need to obtain their visa before arriving in Iran. And some countries can just easily get their Iran visa upon arrival (Iran VOA) from ONE OF THE IRAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTS. To get your Iran visa, you need to have certain documents and pay the Iran visa fee for your nationality. Although Iran FREE TRADE ZONES can be visited without a visa.

WHICH COUNTRIES CAN GO TO IRAN WITHOUT VISA? From the list of the countries that can travel to Iran, 9 countries don’t need a visa for Iran. Of course, each of these countries’ citizens can stay for a set duration of time in Iran.

If you are not among the countries that can travel to Iran visa-free (green on the map), you need to get your Iran visa to enter Iran. Citizens of some countries can get their Iran visa on arrival ( Blue on the map) , and some other countries need to get their visa in advance(Orange on the map). Travelers from the US, the UK, and Canada fall under a category of their own. Because of these countries relations with Iran, visitors from these countries’ are treated with a fixed set of regulations before traveling to Iran. Tip: If you hold an American, British, or Canadian passport, your Iran visa approval usually takes 40 business days. But on occasions, the process can take up to 3 months. So it’s recommended that you apply for your Iran visa a couple of months in advance.
To enter Iran’s free trade and industrial zones, you don’t need to get an Iran visa. You can stay in any of these Iran free zones without a visa for as long as 30 days. If you plan on staying more than that, then getting an Iran visa is mandatory.

Tip: Getting an Iran visa for these trade zones is much easier for a Us, Britain, and Canada citizen than accessing mainland Iran. But you should remember that getting a visa at the port of entry is only possible if you fly in directly to a free zone in Iran, e.g. Kish island.

Note: Iran Entry visa or Iran business visa needs an invitation letter from your Iranian host. Although, an Iran business visa is valid only for 14 days.
To enter Iran, similar to all other countries, children have a specific set of rules their guardians or parents must follow to ensure that they will have a safe and trouble-free trip.
If your child is 2 or younger, obtaining an Iran visa for them is not necessary. A paper will be issued stating that a child is traveling with you, but that is all.
If your child is older than 2 and younger than 18, their parent or legal guardian can apply on their behalf.
