Did You Know?

Special Economic Zones

Free trade zones are much newer in Iran than the special economic zones. In 1989, the country’s first five-year growth strategy and Note 20 of this legislation established special and protected areas along the country’s physical border in order to facilitate production and customs. After that, the Iran Ports and Shipping Organization established special and protected areas along the country’s border in order to establish storage of raw materials, parts, and products so that are imported safely and WITHOUT any exchanges in currency.

Note that, A free trade zone resembles a city and provides more amenities for economic agents than a special economic zone!
